2008 Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus (SOLD)

Here what I have is a Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus!

She is definitely a great sounding and fantastic looking (bit road worn) LP Standard…and the most important: she’s got all the tones that you expect from a well played Les Paul. Check my LONG REVIEW VIDEO with it:

Some people pay £2K extra for a Tom Murphy (fake) aged Les Paul…while this one has been aged by life! Aged by Mr Life 🙂 I definitely prefer this! Look at the 21 photos + review video, I always show all the marks!

For 2008 Gibson made a lot of improvements on the LP Standard range:

  • It begins at the neck, which features an enlarged neck tenon for maximum wood contact, and a new asymmetrical neck profile that makes it one of the most comfortable and playable necks ever offered.
  • Locking Grover tuners with an improved gear ratio of 18:1 are also a first for the Les Paul. Custom-made, gold-plated potentiometers made by Bourns, give the 2008 Standard a new level of sonic clarity and intensity.
  • It’s also one of the first Gibson USA models to utilize the revolutionary Plek system—a computer-controlled setup that carefully measures and dresses each fret, accurately measuring the height between the fingerboard and each string, virtually eliminating string buzz and providing unbeatable playability.
  • A set of Gibson’s Burstbucker Pro humbuckers deliver the powerful punch expected from a Les Paul, faithfully capturing the magic of Gibson’s legendary PAF pickups of the 1950s.
  • A chambered mahogany body gives the 2008 Standard enhanced resonance, and a plain or flame maple top pays homage to the iconic Les Pauls of the late 1950s.
  • Other new features include TonePros’ locking Nashville Tune-o-matic and stopbar tailpiece, strap lock buttons, and each one comes with Gibson USA’s standard black snakeskin case.

Well, she is now 12 years old and has got a bit of rock n roll mojo here and there…a few marks, chips. Nothing dramatic but she has been played very carefully! I’m saying “carefully” as the frets are unworn! It’s not been re-fretted and they’ve got their entire life back so it’s been played very carefully.

She comes with the original Gibson hard case (road worn), manual and strap-locks!

This is a great guitar for the player and a nice buy! You can get a shiney new Gibson Les Paul Standard for £2K++ but this one has 12 years of character for no extra cost and this is the Standard Plus model so has a great looking top! £1350 for this baby. SOLD
