Marshall 1987x Plexi (SOLD)

This Marshall Plexi is an absolute industry standard top-grade equipment that has stood the tests of time for decades. It’s part of the fantastic British Amp building heritage. An absolute proud member of the legendary Marshall collection. Both the tone and cosmetics are just second to none. It looks serious 🙂

This has an absolutely gorgeous vintage, over-driven tone many Marshall fans state that this little brother sounds better than the 100W SLP. Its voicing and playability are a bit better I reckon. I’ve just had the 100W here recently and I simply couldn’t use it. Not even with an attenuator. It’s killed everybody with the volume above 2…not this is more user friendly and still has plenty of headroom. A perfect pedal platform, it just loves pedals and it’s probably the most touch sensitive amp on the market, so plug the guitar straight in, crank it up and if you need clean than just turn the volume down on the guitar or play softer 🙂 it’s fantastic I tell you what 🙂

What Marshall say about the Vintage Reissue 1987X 50w Guitar Amp Head :
While the 50 Watt 1987X head shares the same ‘Plexi’ front and rear panel features as the 1959SLP, it has its own distinctive sonic personality. More aggressive than the ’60s ‘Plexis’, the 1987X is much more of the ’72 period, with a heady, sweet/aggressive tone.
These tonal characteristics are what define this much respected all-valve head. Much care and effort has gone into ensuring that the 1987X remains true to those tonal characteristics, as well as ensuring it remains aesthetically true to the original ‘Plexi’.
The only modern addition to this re-issue is a tonally transparent Series FX Loop.
