1995 Fender Custom Shop 1954 Reissue Stratocaster (SOLD)

SOLD
Well, what can I say? It’s a simple amazing, top of the range, hand made Fender Stratocaster from 1995! It’s one of the very sought after early custom shop guitars (John Page era). The Fender Custom Shop was much smaller and produced significantly less guitars then nowadays so the value of these early custom shop guitars are going up every day…

Here is a bit of history about the John Page era:
“The Fender Custom Shop got its start in 1987 with luthiers John Page and Michael Stevens at the helm. Known for producing outstanding luthiers, both of these craftsmen would later go on to start their own successful guitar businesses after their tenure with the Custom Shop.

Part of the motivation behind the start of the Custom Shop was that Fender’s R&D department was fielding a lot of requests for custom guitars by artists, and the company wanted to shed the dark image of CBS. Under their ownership, customization of guitars was not often an option. So Page and Stevens were summoned to head up this boutique lutherie shop where the plan was to produce five or six guitars a month. But work orders for custom guitars reached nearly 600 in the first month, and the operation expanded to keep up with demand.”

So this model was made in 1995 and is in virtually mint condition, no buckle rash, or scratches etc, also still has the plastic coating on the backplate, the only marks are some small chips on the bottom edge, nothing to worry about, just a bit of extra rock n roll mojo…

Premium swamp ash body (look at the grain!!!) and highly figured birds eye maple neck. The neck is a soft “v” shape, fingerboard 9.5″ radius, set of three hand wound custom shop ’50’s pickups…you can’t go wrong with these…

The action is nice and low, tiny frets, extra comfortable and easy to play.

It plays and sounds as it looks…

It comes with the original case, Custom shop certificate, ash tray and trem. Also with a printed off confirmation email from Fender US where they explain the specs etc…

Today the new Custom Shop Stratocasters sell at around £2000++. This rare early model is in excellent condition and it’s a much better investment at £1800 SOLD
