I love and respect Taylor guitars! They produce second to none quality acoustic guitars! Now this guitar is a Fall Limited Edition model and certainly doesn’t disappoint. Taylor has taken a round of 400-series models and given them Western Red Cedar tops with beautiful pieces of Tasmanian Blackwood for the back and sides. It looks and sounds bloody amazing!

I really like the blackwood. The guitar is very warm, great bass, meaty midrange and great top end. The cedar responds so well with light playing. I have read that the blackwood brings a maple-ish sound quality to the top end. I agree. So in summary, you get a fantastic meaty mid range, maple-ish top end and a low end. Add in the warmth and responsiveness of cedar and you have a stellar finger style and light to medium strumming guitar.

Tasmanian Blackwood is very similar to Hawaiian Koa, in both looks and sound. Blackwood takes the essential tones of koa and blends it nicely with the woodiness of mahogany and the bright bloom of rosewood. Adding the Cedar top makes the guitar have a very natural and woody tone with lots of warm low end that make it a wonderful instrument for both fingerpickers and light-to-medium strummers. Topping off the gorgeous look of these instruments is a Rock Maple mini back wedge, body binding, and “fishbone” style rosette.

The built in Taylor expression system is the best sounding acoustic guitar pickup and amplifier system on the market! It sounds amazing!
